What are the costs involved in having your teeth removed in hospital under general anaesthetic?

There are three charges to pay when having an Oral Surgery procedure in hospital;

1) The surgeons fee for your procedure.

2) The Anesthetist's fee (estimate $750)

3) The Hospital fee (Estimate $1750 - $3500)

Do I need a separate consultation appointment to have an Oral Surgery procedure such as my wisdom teeth removed in hospital?

Yes.


There are some formal documents to go through to explain your options, risks and benefits of the proposed treatment and all the background medical information to ensure it is safe to put you to sleep for your surgery.

Will my private health insurance cover my treatment?

This can only be confirmed by your insurer. There are many levels of cover and a quotation should be sought from your insurance provider once the request for admission paperwork is complete. When dropping your form off at the hospital any gap payments or out of pocket costs can be confirmed at that time.
